Hello

My story really begins when I was a kid running wild in the summer in Portugal. My family and I would explore everywhere—from cities to small villages and everything in-between. It was on one of these trips when I was eight years old, that I met a cork harvester and watched as they took pieces of bark off of the tree. We learned that this is work passed down from one generation to another and the harvesters take great pride in carefully removing the bark so the tree can regenerate the bark and stay healthy. I also loved to create things. Flash forward years later when a new textile emerged featuring cork. I fell in love with the soft feel of the fabrics as well as the stunning colors, patterns and designs that were available. As someone who is concerned about the future of our planet earth, I also love that cork is not only sustainable but also vegan. Using cork allows me to craft beautiful products with a renewable resource.
